Eyelid Surgery
We value eye contact because our eyes reveal so much about our personality and moods. When your eyes look vibrant and alert, they reflect how you feel inside. As you age, however, the skin and muscles around your eyes can lose elasticity, making them look tired, angry, or sad, even though you feel otherwise. In the Central Florida community of Daytona Beach, Dr. Carl Lentz performs eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to restore a naturally youthful appearance to your eyes so they truly reflect how you feel inside.
Are you ready to visit Dr. Lentz's Daytona Beach office to see if eyelid surgery is right for you? Request a consultation online, or call his office at 386-252-8051. Dr. Lentz serves patients from Central Florida as well as those traveling from across the country.
Benefits to You
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can do wonders for your appearance, making you look refreshed, younger, and more alert. It's typically performed for men and women over 35, but can also be an option for younger people. While patients have unique reasons for wanting eyelid surgery, most do so to accomplish one or more of these goals:
- Lift and tighten heavy, droopy upper eyelids
- Remove excess tissue to eliminate under-eye bags or bulges
- Smooth wrinkles, especially crow's feet
- Remove and lift skin on the upper lids to improve vision
During your consultation with Dr. Lentz, he will carefully analyze your eye area and recommend either upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or a combination of both to rejuvenate the appearance of your eyes. In addition to eyelid surgery, he may suggest a brow lift, BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, dermal fillers, or laser treatment for optimal results. Rest assured that Dr. Lentz will utilize his over 30 years of experience and training to customize the perfect treatment plan just for you.
What to Expect
Dr. Lentz performs eyelid surgery as an outpatient procedure in an AAAASF-certified operating room, staffed by highly trained surgery technicians. He prefers to use general anesthesia so you remain asleep throughout the procedure, although local anesthesia may be available. During the procedure to remove fat and excess skin, Dr. Lentz carefully conceals incisions in your natural creases or along lash lines.
After eyelid surgery, you can expect to return to light activities within 7 to 10 days and resume your normal routine, including exercise, within 3 to 4 weeks.
Your Improved Look
Following eyelid surgery, most patients report a positive change in the way others respond to them because their inner vitality shows in their eyes. It's no surprise then that eyelid surgery remains one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures for those who want to look refreshed, younger, and more alert.
