Dr. Lentz Plastic Surgeon Florida

Born in Daytona Beach, the son of a pioneer family, Dr. Lentz was raised around the world. He graduated with a BS in Biology in 1966 from Emory University in Atlanta and then attended the University of Miami Medical School, receiving his M.D. degree in 1970. He is a Distinguished Military Graduate and commissioned Lieutenant in the U.S.A.F. He was a general surgery resident from 1970 to 1975 at the Keesler U.S.A.F. Medical Center in Mississippi. He was fortunate to have been in a plastic surgery residency at Wilford Hall U.S.A.F. Medical Center at Lackland AFB, Texas from 1975 to 1977. Dr. Lentz has been board certified since 1977.

Since leaving the Air Force in 1979, Dr. Lentz has been in active private practice in Daytona Beach, Florida. He has served as President of the Volusia County Medical Society. Past positions include: Chief of Surgery at Halifax Medical Center; Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at both Halifax Medical Center and Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial; and President of the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons where he has been a member for over twenty years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Medical Association, Lipolysis Society of North America, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is the immediate past President of the Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Lentz has been extremely active in the community in many other aspects. He has served as Chairman of the Civic League, President of the Tiger Bay Club, and President of the Rotary Club of Daytona Beach in addition to being a member of the United Way, the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the State Board of Public Schools.

While maintaining a full time practice, Dr. Lentz continued to serve the United States government as a full Colonel in the United States Reserves. In 1990-91 he was called to active duty and served in Desert Shield-Desert Storm. He was stationed at an evacuation hospital in Saudi Arabia just south of the Iraqui border. He returned home in the spring of 1991 and reestablished his practice in Plastic Surgery.

One of the greatest honors that Dr. Lentz believes he has ever achieved is that of being a physician and plastic surgeon whose patients trust him with their care.
