Who is a Good Candidate for ThermiVa Vaginal Rejuvenation?
If you are a healthy adult woman who has given vaginal birth, is nearing menopause, or wants to mitigate the effects of incontinence or aging with a non-surgical vaginal-rejuvenation treatment, you may be a good candidate for ThermiVa.
Women who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have any signs of infection around the pubic area should delay treatment or choose an alternative mode of care.
What Does a ThermiVa® Procedure Involve?
ThermiVa® is a painless and non-invasive three-session procedure that requires no anesthesia. Treatments are administered monthly.
During each session, Dr. Ashley Lentz will apply a heat-conducting gel to the treatment area, then sweep the ThermiVa® radiofrequency device back and forth inside the vaginal canal and over the inner and outer labia. Controlled thermal energy will slowly heat the vaginal and vulvar tissues to promote collagen remodeling and improve the integrity of the skin.
The procedure may feel similar to a warm massage, and most sessions take about 30 to 40 minutes to complete.
What is the Recovery Like After ThermiVa Treatment?
Patients may resume normal activity immediately after each treatment session without any need for recovery or downtime. You can exercise and engage in sexual activity according to your comfort level. Some patients may experience mild cramping, which should subside within 24 hours.
How Long Do ThermiVa Results Last?
ThermiVa® radiofrequency treatments at Lentz Plastic Surgery deliver immediate results, along with improvements over time as new collagen develops. Your vaginal lubrication, elasticity, tightness, and sensitivity should increase day after day. ThermiVa® treatments should also improve your bladder control.
The most significant changes occur after the full series of three treatments has been performed. Results typically last nine to 12 months or longer. Women who wish to prolong their effects may elect to come in for maintenance sessions every few months.
