Chemical peels are a cosmetic medical grade treatment that can be applied to almost any area of the body. During this procedure, a chemical solution will be applied to the area being treated, which causes the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off. Once this happens, you are left with new healthier skin.
What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that use acids to remove a uniform amount of cells from the surface of your skin. This treatment addresses a wide range of skin concerns, like fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and enlarged pores.
Ideal Candidates
Chemical Peels are great for anyone suffering from hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne, aged skin, dry skin or just looking for a skin pick-me-up! This procedure is known to reduce acne, help fix uneven skin tone, lighten freckles, and help diminish skin discoloration caused by melasma. We use VI Peel to give you a smooth, glowing, and radiant result.

Your Chemical Peel Consultation
During your initial appointment our team will help you understand the benefits of the treatment. Your provider will discuss and examine your skin concerns in order to come up with the best course of treatment. Jessica Kilner, a licensed medical aesthetician and customized skin care specialist, is here to also assist in giving you your desired results.
What Is a Chemical Peel Like?
The treatment starts with sanitizing the target areas, then an exfoliant acid will be applied. First, it will be spread across the thicker areas of the face, like the chin, nose and cheeks. After that, it will be applied on thinner parts, especially around the eyes and mouth.
You will feel a burning or stinging sensation, which could last for a few minutes. Then saline cold compresses will be applied to relieve you of the sting, after which the exfoliant will be washed off or neutralized.
Healing and Aftercare
Light chemical peels require only hours of recovery and almost no downtime, whereas medium to deep chemical exfoliation can take a few weeks to completely heal. Following your treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and peeling of your skin.
Your provider will give you post-treatment instructions to hasten healing and recovery. Your new skin needs extra care, including protection from sun damage, so wearing sunscreen is required to prevent complications.
Cost of Chemical Peel Treatments
Depending on the depth and extent of treatment, the total cost of your chemical peeling can only be determined after a consultation with your provider. The prices of chemical peels vary significantly depending on several factors.
