Dr. Ashley Lentz grew up in the Daytona Beach Area. Her great grandfather, Laurence Thompson, was among the community’s first residents, serving as a merchant and city official. He built the first home on the Peninsula, which still stands today, called “Lillian Place”. Dr. Lentz’s family still lives in the Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach Area, serving as an active community member.

She attended Medical School at the University of Florida. She loved being a Gator Fan and continued General Surgery and Plastic Surgery Residency training in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Lentz won the prestigious “Intern of the Year” award and the Chief Resident “Teacher of the Year” award. After Plastic Surgery training, Dr. Lentz completed Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship in Chicago with Dr. Bruce Bauer where she learned the art of complex Pediatric Plastic Surgery reconstruction.

After nine years of surgical training, she returned to University of Florida to practice and teach surgery to surgery residents. During her years of faculty, she received multiple outstanding teaching awards for the instruction of medical students and surgical residents. She was the Co-director of the University of Florida Craniofacial Clinic and treated children with cleft lip and palate deformities. It was during her time at University of Florida that she continued the tradition of her mentor, Dr. Brent Seagle, by leading a cleft lip and palate mission trip to San Pedro Sula, Honduras twice a year with the Interplast South Team. She has continued to lead this trip each year and take a team of health care providers to Honduras in order to care for those who are not able to afford cleft lip and palate surgery.

In 2016, Dr. Lentz wanted to focus on her family life and return home to join her father in private practice. Dr. Carl W Lentz built a strong tradition of exceptional care in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was born and raised in Daytona Beach and dedicated his career to taking care of patients in North Central Florida. Dr. Ashley Lentz continues the family tradition and performs both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She loves the diversity of her cases and patients of all ages. Most of all, she loves the ability to spend time with her extended family and raise her own children down the road from where she grew up.
